My Approach

Curious, Pragmatic, & Experienced

As a clinical psychologist trained at Penn State (PhD) and MGH/Harvard Medical School (internship), I bring extensive training in both psychodynamic and cognitive-behavioral approaches to our work.

I believe that the best therapy is tailored to you. My style is active and curious. I listen carefully to understand your goals, supporting you to connect the dots between your past experiences and your present challenges.

It's impossible to say exactly what successful therapy looks like before a careful assessment of what led you here. In general, my patients report less suffering (e.g., with depression or anxiety) and the development of stronger, more meaningful relationships over time. This is often supported by an increased sense of freedom and choice that comes from better understanding ourselves and others.

Areas of Focus

Tailored to You

Whether you struggle with frequent anxiety, difficulty bouncing back from stress, or feelings of emptiness, we will work together to address whatever led you to seek therapy.

Trauma & Resilience

Support for reactions to stress and trauma, including PTSD. We work on building your capacity to "bounce back" and reclaiming a sense of safety in your daily life.

Relationships

Addressing anxiety about or avoidance of closeness. We explore the roles you find yourself in to shift difficult cycles into healthier, deeper connections.

Self-Compassion

For those dealing with self-criticism, chronic anger, low self-esteem, or hopelessness. We move beyond symptoms to understand the root of these feelings.

Begin the Conversation

I know it can be hard to find a therapist. Please reach out for a free 15-minute Zoom consultation to assess fit. If we agree to work together, we can typically schedule a first session right away.
